Community and Youth Worker Resources

Building a trauma-informed culture includes recognizing the signs of burnout, stress, and vicarious trauma and proactively strategizing to prioritize mental health and well-being. Community Support from the School Care Team takes this approach to increase youth workers’ hope and enhance their capacity to provide a supportive environment for the youth they serve.

It's best to connect with us so we can get to know you. The more we can understand your organization's strengths and challenges, the more able we are to guide you toward a workshop or program that will best suit your specific needs.

Our most successful partners participate in a Discovery Phase, which helps you understand the perceptions of your organization's culture.

Where to start?

Wellness Recovery Action Planning

WRAP® is a wellness approach that helps people to:

      1. Decrease and prevent intrusive or troubling feelings and behaviors

      2. Increase personal empowerment

      3. Improve their quality of life

      4. Achieve their own life goals and dreams

The School Care Team works alongside Advocates for Human Potential as partners bringing WRAP to youth-workers using a dynamic and interactive workshop format.

"The idea is eye-opening that the story we tell ourselves is not always accurate, nor is the one others tell themselves about us."

Fort Wayne Community School Employee

"I have things I need to work on, but now I also have tools to work on those things."

Community Member

"I need to remember to say yes to myself, reach out to my supporters when needed, and most of all... just breathe!"

Goshen Community School Teacher

Our WRAP for adults program is the perfect solution for those who want to take charge of their wellness. With 16 hours of evidence-based curriculum broken into two days, or any other combination to suit your needs, you'll learn to identify what you're like when you're well, so that you can determine when wellness is declining. We'll also provide you with strategies to put in place so you can return to wellness quickly and effectively.

Team Development Services

Reflection tools, including Working Genius and Emotional Intelligence inventories, contribute to a trauma-informed workplace by highlighting individual strengths and team growth opportunities. Organizations that understand each team member’s unique profile can align roles and responsibilities, leading to reduced stress and burnout and increased job satisfaction. This enhances productivity while creating an empathetic environment that reinforces psychological safety.

Imagine if every team in every company knew their people’s geniuses, competencies, and frustrations and organized them for success.

The Working Genius model offers individuals, teams, and companies the insight, tools, and common language to identify how we each approach work, how we all work together, and how we take projects across the finish line while valuing and aligning each person’s contribution.
